In the first week of Advanced Interactive Design, the lecturer introduced us to the course and showed us many creative and interactive websites. These websites were very inspiring because they included smooth animations, unique visual effects, and engaging user interactions. Seeing these examples helped me understand that interactive websites are not just for sharing information, but can also create immersive digital experiences that attract users and keep them engaged.
The lecturer also explained the main project for this semester, which is to design and develop our own interactive website based on a theme that reflects our personal interests. This made me start thinking about what kind of topic I would like to explore. I began brainstorming ideas based on my hobbies and interests, such as technology, gaming, movies, and creative digital experiences.
Task (Five Ideas) For this week’s task, I prepared five initial ideas for my project. Each idea had a different concept and interaction style. Some ideas focused on storytelling and animation, while others emphasized user interaction and visual exploration. This brainstorming process helped me think more deeply about what kind of experience I want users to have when visiting my website.
After discussing these ideas with my lecturer, I will carefully evaluate which concept has the most potential in terms of creativity, technical feasibility, and user engagement. My goal is to choose a project that is visually interesting, interactive, and achievable within the semester.
This week was a public holiday, so there was no class.
Although there was no lesson, I spent some time reviewing the examples shown in Week 1 and continued thinking about possible project directions. I also searched for more interactive website references online to gain inspiration for animations, layouts, and interaction styles.
This helped me better understand the level of creativity and technical skills needed for this project, and it gave me more ideas for how I can make my own website more engaging and visually appealing.
This week, the lecturer introduced us to the basics of Adobe Animate and explained how it can be used to create animations for interactive web projects. The lecturer patiently guided us through the software interface and showed us the basic tools and functions.
During the lesson, we learned how to create simple vector graphics, organize layers, and use the timeline to produce basic motion effects. We also practiced drawing simple shapes and combining them into small animated scenes. Through these exercises, I started to understand how animation works and how movement can make a website feel more dynamic and interactive.
Although I am still new to using Adobe Animate, this lesson helped me become more familiar with the software and gave me more confidence to experiment with animation. I believe these skills will be very useful for developing my final interactive design project.
